A few years ago, I created a tool to document and graph how I spent every minute of the day. This came out of not knowing "where the day went". A lot of it went to being in transit. So what they say about the journey being more important than the destination is a good point, given it takes up the biggest chunk of (nonsleep/nonwork) time - transitional environments
I have an elaborate, color-coded system for tracking my time (during the semester only)---I don't spend a much time in transit, but I spend a lot of time in transition: getting ready for bed/waking up. I also spend a lot of time talking on the phone and lolly-gagging.
